About Château La Haye

One of the oldest castles of Saint-Estèphe, Château La Haye is part of the long wine tradition since 1557 when Sire Janot Bernard of Leyssac planted the first vines.

According to legend, this Château was a hunting lodge for king Henri II and Diane de Poiters. Although married to Catherine de Medici, Henry II has special affectino for his governess. Their monogram, H and D interlaced , is engraved in stone at Château’s entrance and has now become the symbol of Château La Haye.

Château La Haye is located in town of Leyssac, very close to world famous First Growth Château Lafite and a stone’s throw to Second Growth Château Cos d’Estournel.
