Introducing the Churchview St. John Noble Riesling 2019
CULTIVATED.
The St. John Noble Riesling 2019 vintage was cool and at times wet, which can be a challenge when creating dry table wines. However, when aiming to make a noble style wine it is perfect. The Riesling block is netted to prevent bird damage and the ripening fruit is closely monitored to analyse the sugar and acid levels and more importantly flavour. Once all is ready for harvest about 40 hand pickers are organised to pick start early in the morning to ensure that the fruit remains cool prior to processing at the winery.
CRAFTED.
Made in the traditional European way, the fruit is crushed and then in the tank we allow a few hours of skin contact to extract just enough colour and those fresh fruit flavours. After which the wine is run off and allowed to finish fermentation. The wine is kept fresh in the tank until bottling when we will use only low levels of sulphur and no fining agents.
CHERISHED.
COLOUR Pale Gold.
AROMA This wine features intense ripe fruit bouquet of marmalade, peaches, apricots and a hint of vanilla.
FLAVOUR The palate is luscious with layers of very sweet ripe apricots and peaches. The texture is rich, round and complex. The palate is beautifully balanced with very concentrated botrytised sweetness mingling with superb acidity giving a very long succulent finish.
