Description

Introducing the Elio Filippino Moscato D’Asti 2022

Golden straw yellow color, sweet, full and persuasive. Its bouquet is rich and fragrant with reminiscences of ripe grapes, lime, and rose petals. It accompanies dessert such as fruit cake, puddings and any kind of pasties, particularly those with cream. 2018 was a big year for the Elio Filippino winery: they celebrated their 50th anniversary of wine production (1968-2018), 20 years of which have been under Elio’s management! Winemaking Process White muscat grapes are gently pressed and the stalks, husks and seeds are immediately removed. The limpid must ferments at 18°-20°C in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. The wine is kept refrigerated until yeast is added in different times of the year, to bring out all the fragrance and freshness of the grapes. After resting a few days in the bottle, Moscato d’Asti is ready for the table and celebrates in the company of its admirers.

About Elio Filippino

Elio Filippino’s philosophy is to produce the highest quality wines with respect to the unique nature of native vines and the character of the terroir. Elio Filippino Winery Elio’s winery is located in the scenic village of Neive, on the right bank of Tanaro River which is an UNESCO site and very close to Alba, a truffle capital. In the hamlet of Serra Capelli in the early 1900s, when the vine was already cultivated, Evaristo Filippino began experimenting with the production that was to continue and develop. The estate only produced grapes at that time, selling them to other wineries. In the fifties, his son Domenico realized that the results could be improved if the grapes were transformed into wine. He decided to make wine from the grapes produced by the estate vineyards and between the end of the eighties and the beginning of the nineties, the winery further increased its activity and began bottling its own wine. Today, Elio Filippino, son of Domenico, uses the traditional and natural methods of superior winemaking without using chemical fertilizers or herbicides. Elio-Filippino The estate consists of two quality wine-growing areas: Serra Capelli, and San Cristoforo. The vineyard sits on a great landscape of steep rolling hills above 350 m sea level. The vineyards are painstakingly by hand maintained. The splendors of elegant, fine and fresh terroir wines displays Elio’s excellent craftsmanship through times.
